Welcome to the Indian Hill High School Web Site. You will find here important information regarding all aspects of school life. We have posted on this page links to the resources you will most frequently need, with a brief description of each.

The District maintains a 24-hour school safety hotline (513) 272-4701 that can be used for reporting information anonymously. Anyone who has information that may compromise the safety of our students or any member of our school community can use this hotline to report their concerns. This number is available at the top of each of the district's main web pages.

Conference Scheduling - follow this link and login using your personal email address (creating your own password) to schedule a time to conference with the teachers of your choice during the November conference day/evening conferences. Follow this link for step-by-step, illustrated directions.

Progress Check (Progress Book): NEW THIS YEAR. Due to state reporting requirements, we have moved to a new system called ProgressBook. The Parent Access Portal will allow you to view grades, grade detail about assignments, and attendance. Letters with account access information (login IDs and passwords) are sent home at the beginning of the year. Parents have a separate account from students and may setup email alerts. However, with this system you must login online to actually view grades (for security purposes). Detailed instructions for parents about logging in, changing your password, linking multiple students to the parent account and viewing grades and attendance may be found here. Blackboard (Assignments): In order to aid communication between home and school, homework and test information, course information, and teacher contact information are contained on Blackboard. Teachers post information regularly. However, please note that last minute changes may only be communicated via the classroom. For access to files from home, you may need to install viewers if you do not have programs like Microsoft office installed. This link contains information for using Blackboard on your PC at home (including a web site to test your PC's setup). NOTE: Be sure to change your password from its default assignment for security purposes. Follow this link for directions on how to change your password and email address in Blackboard.

Acceptable Use of Technology: The official district policy is accessible this link. Computers are made available for use by the students of the Indian Hill School District for the purpose of supporting and enriching their educational experience. Along with that privilege comes the responsibility to utilize technology in an appropriate manner. The use of our district’s computer resources is a privilege, not a right. Each student is responsible for the detailed guidelines of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) found in the student handbook.

Block Schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays run on a different schedule. This changes each week. These "block" days provide longer periods for more focused instruction. The most current link to the block schedule will always be available on the main HS web page (above the announcements).

Calendar: All high school and district activities are listed on this calendar. It is viewable as well as printable. You may also access other Indian Hill school calendars (including athletics) from this link or subscribe to calendars for updates. You are also able to subscribe to groups for email updates, or to upload events to your own personal calendar. Class Pages: Most of the teachers maintain active web pages where information and resources about classes can be found.

Community Service: Community Service is a key element of Indian Hill High School. Our students have had a long tradition of being involved in helping the neighboring communities. In order to graduate, students must have completed 70 total hours of community service--at least. Logon to BLACKBOARD for access to the necessary forms required to be completed for community service credit as well as links for available service opportunities. Once on blackboard, click the COURSES tab at the top, and then type the word community in the search box to quickly find the community service page.

Curriculum: The Language Arts, Social Studies, and Library/Media curricula are currently viewable on line.

CyberStudio: Introductory - Advanced computer classes are held monthly, at no cost to parents/community. Follow this link for a complete schedule and information on how to register.

Drama Web Site: Ticket information, Auditions, Archives, message board and seasonal information is contained on this site.

Directions to our School: Driving directions and map are accessible here or by clicking on the school picture logo in the title bar at the top of the web page.

Directory: The school directory lists the email addresses and school telephone numbers of all teachers and administrators in the district.

Forms:
Community Service Form - students should complete this form and submit it for community service hours completed.
Medical Authorization form - children who need to take medication at school MUST have a medical authorization form on file at the school each year. Print this form, fill it out and sign it, and get a Physician's signature before bringing in the medication to school. This form should not be faxed; the originally signed form must be on file.

Newsletter Online (Smoke Signals): The High School newsletter is called Smoke Signals. This publication is sent via e-mail to all subscribers on a monthly or more frequent basis. The most current article is always linked on the High School home page. Use this link to subscribe to this newsletter or other newsletters in the district.

Party on the Hill: follow this link for information on the district-wide fundraiser, to make reservations for this event, or to purchase raffle tickets.

PTO: Follow this link for complete information about the PTO. One of the consistent fund raising activities from the PTO comes from Market Day. This link allows you to review information about Market Day or order online.

Request for Information Form: This form must be completed and submitted to the High School Guidance department in order to release school records.

Research: The High School offers a variety of resources to aid students in doing research away from school, including the Research Guide which explains the Big 6 research process, online resource databases available for your home use, and grade and class specific research links. The High School Media Center web site has additional useful links, including the information for citing works correctly, writing guides, and information on plagiarism.

School Supplies List - this link contains the supply information for all classes requiring supplies.

Senior and Graduation Picture information - Indian Hill High School uses Keiser Photography in Milford. Please view their website, http://www.keiserphotography.com for complete pricing information.

Senior Projects: Dates, timelines, expectations and other information may be found on Blackboard under the Senior Class.

Student Handbook: This is an online version of the handbook that comes home with your student at the beginning of the year. Information contained in the handbook is meant to serve as a resource for students and parents alike. Students are responsible for reading the handbook to familiarize themselves with policies and procedures. Parents are encouraged to discuss the information with their students. This home-school partnership will result in creating a school environment that promotes individual student growth and responsibility. March 9, 2009 Bullying Policy Revision details.

Study Hall/Intervention Rules - expectations for students regarding study hall behavior and requirements for passes may be found here.

Summer Assignments: Assignments for summer reading as well as other classes (including AP classes) may be found here. They are also located under the High School main class on blackboard.

Transportation: In the upcoming school year, to request alternate transportation, the forms for this will be located exclusively on our transportation website for your access (these forms are no longer sent home in the August mailing). Simply fill out the appropriate forms and return them following the instructions. If you are unable to access the forms, contact either the school's office (272-4550), or Transportation (272-4531).

Wellness Department: The Wellness Department at Indian Hill updates this site to provide news on wellness issues in the district as well as healthy tips and other links.
