1.    Task Definition

·         Identifying the problem

·         Identify what information is needed to solve the problem

2.   Information Seeking Strategies

·         Brainstorm possible sources and select the best ones

·         Find answers to the question or solution to the problem

3.   Location and Access

·         Locate sources

·         Find needed information

4.  Use of Information

·         Engage in the source

·         Select only the relevant information

5.  Synthesis:  Putting it all together

·         Organize information from multiple sources

·         Present the information

6.  Evaluation

·         Judge the product (effectiveness)

·         Judge the information problem-solving process (efficiency)
