Performance Objectives:  

1.  The student will actively participate in an individual and/or team track event.
2.  The student will understand the basics of all of the events demonstrated during physical education class.
CL3.  Increase the level of agility and physical coordination.
F2.  The student will understand the elements of physical fitness.
F6.  The student will be able to evaluate his/her level of fitness.
F7.  The student will demonstrate an understanding of relaxation and its effect on the body.

Rules:

1.  The students will be divided into 4 or 6 teams by the teachers according to current track participants, skill, and desire.

2.  Each team will be given the following sheet of paper and the captain will coordinate the division of events and participants:

    Instructions:  In your team decide who will be doing which events.  Everyone will be involved in the team tug-of-war.  All

    participants must sign up for one other event.  You can do as many as you want provided everyone is in at least two events.

   Fill out this sheet and take it to your teacher.  All events must be taken before we will start basketball.  The only exception

   is the mile run.  You can choose to D.Q. this event and not earn any points in this category.

3.  All students assigned to a team will participate in the tug-o-war.  Two teams participate in best out of three pulls.

4.  Two or three events will be performed each day, depending upon the weather and facilities.

5.  All members of the team will practice and demonstrate the proper technique of passing the baton.
