Students working on unit:

Activity:  Mission Impossible
The students in cooperative groups work together to get from one side of the gym to the other by only moving on the equipment provided (below right).   If a student falls off a piece of equipment, they must leave the equipment where it is and return back to the starting point. Another student may go out on their chosen piece of equipment and rescue the groups lost items.  When all the equipment and the entire group get to the far side of the gym the group has accomplished their mission. They then try to go back across the gym in less time than it took them the first trip.

Once the group has successfully completed the return trip, then remove some of the items and have the group repeat the activity.

Equipment: large cone, frisbee, goalie kneepad, hula hoop, yellow cone, yellow baton, broomball stick, softball glove, orange dot, multicolored base, large mat, softball base.

Activity:  Human Pyramids
The students in cooperative groups pick a pyramid from the pyramid charts provided that they would like to attempt.  Any pyramid over two people high requires a teacher to spot(below).  Once the students accomplish their chosen pyramid they may then move on to attempt another one.  Note:  All students must agree with the role that they will play in the human pyramid or the teacher will recommend the group attempts a different pyramid more suitable to the groups dynamics.

Activity:  Blind Mine Field
The students in their cooperative groups divide into pairs.  One partner must direct the other partner (who is blindfolded) through the mine field while only using verbal commands and while remaining on the outside of the mine field at all times.  If the blindfolded student runs into a mine, they keep going until they get to the end of the mine field.  The goal is for each person to get through the mine field hitting as few mines as possible. Once finished the partners switch roles.
