Performance Objectives:

S9. While stationary/moving, the student will strike a bouncing ball from various arm positions with an implement held in one hand.
S10. While stationary/moving, the student will strike an object/ball in flight from various arm positions with an implement held in one hand.

Rules:

1. Dropping a racquet results in a warning. The second time the racquet drops during one class period = the player sits out the remainder of class.

2. The lines are considered in bounds.

3. Everyone on a team must serve once before anyone can serve a second time.

4. All teams must designate a score keeper who is responsible for mediating arguments (see paper/rock/scissors/). This person reports the team(s) results at the end of the class.

5. If you hit a ball out of the playing area (in the bleachers or over the fence) you have to go and retrieve it---no exceptions.

Pickle-Ball Serving

1. The serve must be underhand and it has to bounce once in both courts before a volley can take place.

2. Serves always start on the right side, and must go diagonally across the net to the opposite service area.

3. If the ball hits the net on the first attempt to serve it can be replayed.

4. The same person serves the entire game.

5. Teams score points even when they are not serving.

Tennis Scoring/Pickle Ball will be modified to the same scoring as Tennis

1. The server's score is always given first : ex. 15 serving 30.

2. The first point won by a player = 15, second point = 30, third point = 40 which is game unless the game is tied.

3. If tied at 40 / 40 = Deuce, and the game continues until one team is ahead by two points.

4. After deuce the player who scores the next point has advantage. If the player with advantage scores the next point the game is over, if not the score goes back to deuce.
