Indian Hill presents Dr. Joan Ferrante

Dr. Joan Ferrante

The Indian Hill School District invites staff members, parents, and guardians to be a part of a Courageous Conversation about race relations featuring Dr. Joan Ferrante, a professor of sociology at Northern Kentucky University Tuesday, March 12.  Dr. Ferrante is the author of Sociology: A Global Perspective, and Seeing Sociology.  She also co-authored/edited The Social Construction of Race and Ethnicity in the United States with Prince Brown, Jr. Her most recent works are Places That Matter: Knowing Your Neighborhood Through Data (University of California).  Dr. Ferrante is a recipient of the Frank Sinton Milburn Outstanding Professor Award.  She is the founder and director of the Mourning the Creation of Racial Categories Project which just completed the second of four films in a documentary series of the same name.  
 
Dr. Ferrante will present to parents/guardians at the Indian Hill Middle School Multipurpose Room Tuesday, March 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
