Indian Hill Board of Education selects finalist for Superintendent of Schools

Kirk Koennecke

The Indian Hill Board of Education has officially named Mr. Kirk Koennecke as the only finalist in the search for Superintendent of Schools. A veteran educational leader with 16 years of experience in administration and 24 years of service to students, Mr. Koennecke is the current superintendent of the Graham Local School District in Central Ohio, where he has led in that capacity since 2016. In addition to his vast experience as a leader in education, Mr. Koennecke has also been a featured presenter nationally, and has published numerous articles within education publications.

After closing applications for the national search in April, the Board reviewed resumes from a pool of eight candidates and set special meetings to interview five semifinalists. During the search process, the Board of Education worked with executive search firm McPherson & Jacobson, LLC to collect input from multiple stakeholders, including holding public community meetings, offering an online survey, and meeting directly with students and staff members during March.

The Board of Education anticipates formalizing a contract with Mr. Koennecke and voting on the contract at the May 20 Board meeting.

Background:
The search began following the resignation announcement by Indian Hill Superintendent Dr. Mark Miles effective June 30, 2019. Dr. Miles accepted the position of Superintendent of the Rockwood School District in St. Louis, Missouri.
