College Board recognizes Indian Hill High School counselor

Lindsay Kearns

The Indian Hill School District congratulates Indian Hill High School counselor Lindsay Kearns who was honored this year for the 2019-2020 College Board Counselor Recognition Program, established to recognize innovative middle and high school counselors who go the extra mile to expand opportunity for students.

“It is such an honor to receive the College Board Recognition award for my work as a high school counselor,” said Kearns. “I am excited and appreciative every day to work in a district where I get to work closely with students and their families to empower them to learn more about themselves, reach their goals, and shape their futures.”

Selection criteria includes demonstrated leadership and advocacy in school counseling practices, including development of collaborative partnerships that help increase access and equity in college and career readiness, and demonstrated strategies and programs that encourage parent and family involvement.

“The role of a school counselor continues to evolve and Ms. Kearns exemplifies the characteristics of empathy, connection, compassion, positivity, and professionalism,” said Indian Hill High School Principal Jeff Damadeo. “As an integral part of our counseling team, Ms. Kearns takes great pride in ensuring that our Braves continue to receive the level of service they deserve and that our community expects. This recognition is much deserved.”
