The Indian Hill School District celebrates the Indian Hill High School (IHHS) student-artists who earned accolades in the prestigious Governor’s Art Competition. Seven students from IHHS had 13 pieces of their artwork selected to advance to the state judging round, an impressive feat in a competition that saw 674 entries from Southwest Ohio; the selections placed Braves in the top 18 percent of works selected. Additionally, four IHHS students received state-level recognition for their artwork, including:
• Vivian Jenkins' Little Artist
• Alistair Woo's Vivian on the Balcony, Alive
• Jinming Gu's Chinese Teapots
• Jenisha Rana’s Parivar (Family) received an honorable mention, earning distinction as one of the top 300 pieces in the state
“I am incredibly proud of all of our student-artists, especially these students who have taken their creativity and dedication to the next level,” said Indian Hill School District Arts and Activities Director Amy Clark. “This recognition is a testament to the strength of our Indian Hill Arts Conservatory and the incredible talent of our students.”
“The dedication and effort these students have put into their work is truly remarkable,” said Indian Hill High School Art Teacher Adam Wolter. “They have not only honed their technical skills but also found unique voices as artists. This recognition at the state level is well deserved.”
In addition to the student-artists selected to advance, the district celebrates all the following Indian Hill students who had their work selected for state judging:
• Alistair Woo
• Iris Xu
• Vivian Jenkins
• Jenisha Rana
• Annika Riddle
• Jinming Gu
• Rivvy Green
Thousands of artworks are submitted each year, with only 250 selected for the final show. The three works by Jenkins, Woo, and Gu will be featured in the Governor’s Art Competition State Show. The Governor's Art Exhibition will be on view in the Rhodes State Office tower from April 21 through May 15.
