The Indian Hill School District welcomes veteran athletic professional Julius King as the new athletic coordinator and seasoned baseball coach Cary Daniel to the Brave athletic family. King, who has served the District as an educational aide at Indian Hill Primary School and as the head coach of the Indian Hill Middle School Boys Basketball program, will work directly to support Athletic Director Brian Phelps. Daniel, who is new to the District, will serve as the Indian Hill High School Baseball coach.
“We are extremely excited to have both of these amazing professionals join our Athletic Department,” said Indian Hill Athletic Director Brian Phelps. “We have robust offerings in our elite program for our student-athletes at both Indian Hill Middle School and Indian Hill High School, and Mr. King will be integral in supporting those programs in a comprehensive way. Mr. Daniel brings excellent coaching experience to our District to continue to grow our baseball program.”
In addition to his time working in the District, Julius King brings athletic leadership experience to the District through his work as the chief operations officer for both the Kentucky Basketball Commission and The Camp One. King also served as the assistant varsity and junior varsity basketball coach for Brooklyn High School.
“I am very humbled and blessed to have this opportunity to work with the best athletic department and school district in the city,” said Indian Hill Athletic Coordinator Julius King. “I have always loved being a coach and a staff member at Indian Hill. In my new role as athletic coordinator, I feel that I will be able to assist any and all student-athletes and their families in achieving their goals.”
Cary Daniel most recently was the founder and coach of the CBC Marucci Blackhawks which involved management of 30 teams with students ranging in ages 8 to 18. In addition to working as a realtor, he has served as the middle school physical education teacher at The Summit Country Day School (2014-present); the head varsity baseball coach at Wyoming High School (2016-2020); and as the upper school physical education/health teacher and baseball coach at Seven Hills School (2007-2014).
“I am very excited to be here at Indian Hill and build a great program with the support of this great community!” said Indian Hill High School Baseball Coach Cary Daniel. “I am excited to get started and bring this program to the forefront of the league and city.”
Both King and Daniel were approved by the Indian Hill Board of Education during the regularly scheduled October 19 meeting.
