We appreciate your partnership in the continued safety and well-being of our students and our staff. We continue to strive for excellence in our student experience despite the extraordinary circumstances we have had to navigate together. We have a couple of significant updates to share with you regarding new procedures during COVID-19.

Travel & Quarantine Guidelines
Effective immediately, the Indian Hill School District will follow CDC guidelines for quarantine in regards to general travel. This means any person who travels to an area identified on the Ohio Department of Health Advisory list will be required to quarantine, but at a reduced amount of time under certain conditions.

The CDC currently recommends a quarantine period of 14 days. However, the following options to shorten quarantine are acceptable alternatives:
• Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring.
• Quarantine can end after Day 7 with a negative test and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring. The test must be within 48 hours before the time of planned quarantine discontinuation, but quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than after Day 7.

Auditorium & Stadium Capacity
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine released new guidance for event seating amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor specifically authorized an increase in seating capacity for both auditoriums and stadiums.

Indoor facilities will be allowed 25 percent capacity; outdoor facilities will be allowed 30 percent capacity.

This will allow the Indian Hill School District to move forward with plans for our Indian Hill High School Class of 2021 graduation ceremony to take place as scheduled at Tomahawk Stadium and for plans to be made for a modified version of our Indian Hill High School prom. Indian Hill High School Principal Jeff Damadeo will communicate specific details once they are established.

As always, we appreciate your understanding as we continue to navigate changes due to COVID-19. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly should you have any questions or concerns.

In service to our children,

Kirk Koennecke
Superintendent
Indian Hill School District
