The Indian Hill School District proudly announces the selection of Cash Hayden as the new principal of Indian Hill Primary School, effective for the 2025-2026 school year. Hayden has been a dedicated member of the Indian Hill administrative team since 2017, serving as assistant principal and interim principal during his tenure. Hayden has been instrumental in shaping student-centered initiatives and advancing the District’s commitment to the #IHPromise, fostering an environment where each student’s uniqueness is celebrated and their individual potential is fully supported.

“Mr. Hayden embodies the values and vision of the Indian Hill School District,” said Indian Hill CEO/Superintendent Kirk Koennecke. “His extensive background in both teaching and leadership, combined with his personal connection to our District, make him the ideal leader for our primary school. We are excited to see the continued impact he will make as principal in support of our youngest Braves and their families.”

Before joining Indian Hill, Hayden cultivated a broad spectrum of experience in education, beginning his career in Cincinnati Public Schools where he served as an intervention specialist, reading teacher, and kindergarten teacher from 2002 to 2006. He continued his service in education as an intervention specialist at Wyoming Middle School during the 2006-2007 school year. From 2007 to 2017, Hayden advanced through multiple leadership roles in the Mt. Healthy City School District, including dean of students, site administrator for the Alternative Program, assistant principal, and associate principal. Hayden holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Miami University (1999) and a Master of Education in Special Education from Xavier University (2006).

“As a proud 13-year club member and Indian Hill alum, I am deeply honored to lead Indian Hill Primary School as principal,” said Hayden. “Being a Brave is more than a title, it's a commitment to excellence, community, and the belief that every student deserves to flourish. I’m excited to continue serving our Brave family by creating a welcoming and empowering environment for every student, every day.”

Hayden will succeed Dr. Erin Owens, who is leaving the Indian Hill School District at the end of the 2024-2025 school year to pursue professional opportunities outside of education. Hayden was previously assistant principal of Indian Hill Elementary School before moving into an interim principal role for that building.

"Mr. Hayden's vast professional background serving young children and his demonstrated commitment to developing their unique talents will help Indian Hill take leadership learning to the next level for all of our primary school learners," said Indian Hill Board President Niki Singh.

The district will begin the search to replace the position of assistant principal immediately.
