State Champion Elizabeth WhaleyThe Indian Hill School District celebrates Indian Hill High School OHSAA Division II Track & Field State Champion Elizabeth Whaley, who made history by breaking the state record in the 1600M on her way to winning a state championship! The Wake Forest commit set the new record at the Jessie Owens Memorial Track at The Ohio State University during the June 3 and June 4 Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Track & Field Meet.

“Congratulations to all 10 of our state track and field student-athletes and coaches,” said Indian Hill Athletic Director Brian Phelps. “It was an amazing weekend at Ohio State and our student-athletes and coaches represented Indian Hill well. I am extremely proud of all of their efforts.

“Senior Elizabeth Whaley was absolutely unbelievable in the state meet, breaking the state record in the 1600M on her way to winning a state championship. And to top it off, she turned around and ran the 800M and came .22 seconds away from winning a second state championship! Wow, absolutely amazing!”

The Indian Hill Board of Education plans to recognize Whaley at the upcoming regularly scheduled meeting June 28.
