He was one of 32 students in the nation to be accepted, and during the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, October 15, the District recognized Indian Hill High School senior Andrew Schwanekamp for his achievement. Schwanekamp was selected into the Foundation for Teaching Economics’ Economics for Leaders program conducted this past July at Case Western Reserve University.

“I met many great people and got the chance to expand my horizons past Indian Hill to across the world,” said Schwanekamp about the experience. “I ended up making many new friends and having a great time.”

Schwanekamp was selected for demonstrating excellent leadership potential. During the week-long program, he worked with professors to attain an understanding of economic reasoning principles and how to employ these concepts for successful and effective leadership.
