IHHS Athletic Signing

In an auditorium full of family, friends, and staff it was a morning of celebration for six Indian Hill High School (IHHS) student-athletes as each made official their commitment to continue both their academic and athletic careers during a signing ceremony Tuesday, April 23. The ceremony included IHHS seniors Callum Aitken, Kate Marrs, Emily Moreira, Ellie Rabenold, David Reininger, and Regan Wentz.

“These student-athletes are among the best of the best in the nation, and we are thrilled to celebrate their successes with our supportive community,” said IHHS Athletic Director Matt Haskamp.

Callum Aitken – Soccer, Ohio Northern University
Callum Aitken earned a Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) Honorable Mention in soccer during his tenure as a Brave, and additionally served as a soccer referee.

“I selected Ohio Northern because it was everything that I wanted in a school,” said Aitken. “It is small with a great education program, and I will be playing for a good team.”

Kate Marrs – Soccer, Butler University
Kate Marrs is a two-time State Champion in soccer; a 2018 All Southwest All Star; a CHL Scholar Athlete; was named First Team All CHL; All Southwest Scholar Athlete; was a Team Over Me Award recipient; and is a two-time Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Week nominee. During the 2018 season, Marrs had 74 shots saved, with an 87 percent save percentage.
“Committing to Butler means so much more to me than playing at the next level,” said Marrs. “It’s my greatest achievement, and my commitment represents all of the hard work and dedication that I have invested into this position and into this sport. I couldn’t have done any of this without my amazing support system.”

Emily Moreira – Soccer, Thomas More University
Emily Moreira earned back-to-back State Championships during her tenure as a Brave. Additionally, she was a CHL Scholar Athlete; All Southwest Scholar Athlete; and an All State Scholar Athlete.

“This means a lot because I am able to continue my passion for the sport as well as my academic career at a great school,” said Moreira. “I think Thomas More had all the pieces that fit what I was looking for in a college.”

Ellie Rabenold – Lacrosse, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Ellie Rabenold is a U.S. Lacrosse All-American; two-time First Team All-City, All-Region, and All-State. She is a State Champion in lacrosse and soccer, and she holds five school scoring records in lacrosse. In addition, she was the Cross-Country Team Most Valuable Player.

“I chose MIT for its strong academics and for the opportunity to continue to pursue my passion for lacrosse,” said Rabenold.

David Reininger – Soccer, Wittenberg University
David Reininger earned a 2017 CHL Honorable Mention during his tenure as a Brave.

“I chose Wittenberg University because of the academic reputation and the ability to play at the next level,” said Reininger.

Regan Wentz – Lacrosse, Colorado Mesa University
Regan Wentz holds school records as the 10th for goals, ninth for total points, and eighth for assists during her tenure at Indian Hill High School. She represented Ohio in the Brine National Classic, and she represented the Midwest in the Under Armour All-America Tournament.

“Taking this next step is very meaningful to me because in a new chapter of my life I get to take on new challenges while elevating my athletic and academic abilities,” said Wentz.
