2023-2024 Scheduling Information

Visit our updated Scheduling Night website to hear from our teachers and learn descriptions on departmental offerings!

Current High School Students
During the third quarter, scheduling activities take place to assist each student in selecting the appropriate courses for the next school year. The steps to the scheduling process are listed below. Please see your student’s school counselor with any questions.

  1. Several events are held January - March to inform parents of incoming 9-12 graders of course options and opportunities, including Scheduling Night, a College Credit Plus presentation, and a Great Oaks field trip for sophomores.
  2. After Scheduling Night, teachers present course descriptions for their departmental offerings in classes.
  3. During an early Flex in February, students in current grades 9-11 will rotate sessions between elective offerings and school counselors to learn about opportunities and receive course registration sheets and copies of their transcript. Students are encouraged to review the IHHS Course Catalog as well.
  4. Once students have received course registration sheets, they will meet with teachers to review teacher recommendations for the next school year.
  5. During a later Flex in February, students will rotate with counselors to select courses online.
  6. Once students have selected courses online, students and parents have the opportunity to review, correct, and/or change selections before the master schedule is created.

Incoming Freshmen
Transitioning from middle school to high school can be exciting and stressful for both students and parents! We hope to make this a seamless transition for everyone.

Parents of incoming freshmen are invited to attend a meeting with school counselors and administration at the start of Scheduling Night. If you are unable to attend, click the image below to view the information that was presented.
