The Indian Hill School District congratulates the 21 Indian Hill High School (IHHS) visual arts students who earned accolades in the regional round of the Scholastic Art Awards; 31 were selected to receive honors. In total, IHHS received 14 Honorable Mentions, 11 Silver Keys, and 6 Gold Keys, which will advance to the national competition.
The student-artists who earned recognition include:
Gold Key Winners: Gabby Henz, Vivian Jenkins, Alyssa Kerr, Arpad Lallement, Grace Mackey, and Aydin Rahman
Silver Key Winners: Issac Acheson, Shannon Aitken, Caroline Ferreira (2), Vivian Jenkins (2), Alyssa Kerr (2), Megan Maly, Aydin Rahman, and Ella Wiggers
Honorable Mention: Issac Acheson, Patrick Allen Beiter, Sydni Cowherd, Caroline Ferreira, Elyse Longbottom, Marin Messerschmitt, Jenna O'Driscoll, Annika Riddle (2), Carson VanDemark (2), Caroline Winks, Alistair Woo, and Belinda Zhong
Each year, students in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to showcase their writing and visual art skills in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. Scholastics recognizes young artists both regionally and nationally annually.
“The Indian Hill High School Art Department is proud to have so many talented visual art students recognized for their creative achievements; we wish ALL our visual arts students continued success and joy as they pursue their creative endeavors,” said IHHS art teacher Kim Richardson. “We are so thankful to work with such talented students!”
All winning Scholastic artwork from the Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana region will be on display at the Art Academy of Cincinnati from February 9 - February 18.
