Indian Hill Elementary School hosts debut Family Financial Fun Night

IHES Family Financial Literacy Night

The house was packed for the debut Family Financial Fun Night at Indian Hill Elementary School Thursday, April 28. Eighty Braves participated in the event offered in partnership with The Council for Economic Education (CEE) and The Alpaugh Family Economics Center.

“This felt like the perfect next step as we continue to curate an experience that is uniquely Indian Hill for our students in financial literacy,” said Indian Hill Elementary School Principal Whitney Buell. “We have long partnered with The Alpaugh Family Economics Center for The Stock Market Game, and we greatly value how they continue to assist us in developing our offerings.”

"Indian Hill Elementary has demonstrated a tremendous commitment to financial and economic education through both its curriculum and enrichment activities for students. We're excited about the opportunity to build on that fantastic foundation and get kids excited about financial literacy in a fun, engaging way," said Alpaugh Family Economics Center Director Dr. Julie Heath.

Having fun was at the heart of the event for students and their families while learning about the importance of personal finance. The event created an open dialogue about topics such as savings, spending, debt, and budgeting that are often not talked about in busy families, through games and hands-on activity stations led by the Economics Center's teaching team.

“We thank these trusted partners for the time and energy they invested in creating such an exceptional event for our families,” said Buell. “We are already looking forward to next year!”
