Indian Hill High School (IHHS) congratulates all 10 Braves who participated virtually in the JustWrite Regional Writing Competition, including sophomore Elsa Zhou who will advance to state. The regional competition included 14 public and private high schools from across Ohio. Zhou placed third in the Division 1 (freshmen and sophomores) poetry competition with her work Imperfection in 4 Shades.
“We will be cheering Elsa on in the state competition, and we do congratulate all of our students who participated,” said Tom Millard, Indian Hill High School English teacher and JustWrite mentor. “Art in all forms, including writing, takes courage; we appreciate how brave our students were to share their work.”
Writers sat for three 45-minute rounds where they were given a genre and a prompt from which to compose an original story. Poetry competitors were given a prompt and one week to compose an original poem.
Congratulations to all Indian Hill High School students who competed, including: Abbie Hamburger, Hannah Kremer, Julianne Lambert, Jessica Lau, Marianna Narita, Maria Nath, Joy On, Samara Summers, Grace Wang, and Elsa Zhou.
