Many times before a student can really engage academically, other needs must be addressed, and school counselors are here to help with that. We have gathered information and resources to help you in areas frequently brought to us by students and parents. Please reach out to your school counselor with any questions you have.
Counselor Coffee Hour
Each year, we host three Counselor Coffee Hour events for parents to discuss a variety of topics. Past topics include the teenage brain, social media, eating disorder awareness, a mock college admissions panel, and student anxiety. We hope to see you at one of our future coffee hours!
Mental Wellness
Indian Hill High School has an ongoing partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) to provide families access to additional private mental health support services for students. This allows families the choice of accessing a private therapist from a nationally renowned research hospital right here on the Indian Hill School campuses. It also reduces the time students miss attending class and eliminates the need for parents and students to travel to these appointments.
CCHMC provides independently licensed therapists to serve students. These optional services will be in addition to those offered by our school counselors and school psychologists. These services are private services billed directly from CCHMC to families’ insurances or private payment. While the District offers this on-site partnership, it does not endorse nor assume the cost of services. Your child will continue to receive the educational supports they are currently receiving. Parents may choose to sign a release for the mental health therapist to collaborate with the school counselor or school psychologist to aid in educational planning.
CCHMC therapists will meet with students on campus. Flexible hours before and after school are available as needed. While this partnership provides families the opportunity to choose CCHMC, there is no obligation for you to do so. Feel free to contact your child’s school counselor if you have specific questions!
School counselors and school psychologists can also collaborate with outside therapists when a release of information is signed.
