We formally review each subject or content area in our school district every five years. This process is important to ensure our curriculum reflects current research and drives best instructional practice.
Curriculum revision involves examining and updating what we teach, making certain state and national standards are completely integrated, and a consistent content flow occurs from grade level to grade level.
During the curriculum revision process, instructional materials are discussed and approved as needed. Another important aspect of the curriculum revision process is to determine how technology can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning.
A typical curriculum review will take at least a full school year; upon conclusion of this process, the Board of Education is asked to approve the revised curriculum.
